(Yes. Late. Shut up.)

Um...

* Echoes! Pretty pretty boys being totally in love and silly plot that really makes no sense at all -- in other words, SGA at its best.

* HIMYM? xp I feel kind of pathetic when the only two things in this happy meme are SGA and HIMYM. (Okay, there was some Christmas stuff a few days ago as well, but. Still.)

I was also rather happy for a while when I thought I was going to be able to sell my Eee (I'm upgrading!), but then the buyer ended up being kinda scared by the Linux thing, so no.

(Yep, I forgot again.)

* SGA! I finally got around to watching some (Phantoms, The Return I/II).

* HIMYM again - I watched five eps over Trillian with [livejournal.com profile] maccadole.

That... is pretty much it, however, since... Well, mostly I spent yesterday trying to get iTunes to work. Which it still doesn't, so.

I also have a feeling this meme would be more interesting, say, if I were doing something more than watching TV and reading fic, but hey, it's Christmas! Maybe I should've waited until school starts over.

Yes, I am late. Completely forgot to post yesterday.

* Vegas!

* Started rereading [livejournal.com profile] astolat's A Beautiful Lifetime Event, finally. Been planning to for ages.

* How I Met Your Mother. I got caught up on it all (which is somewhat sad, I guess, 'cause no more eps), which I realized means I have a show again! I mean, this spring... No new SGA, only specials of DW, only one week of TW... But HIMYM should be airing somewhat regularly. So yay! Also I love and sort of ship Barney/Robin (which is weird because I am usually all about the slash).

I also watched The Next Doctor yesterday, but that mostly made me kind of sad -- I'm going to miss David Tennant as the Doctor so much, and I didn't quite understand how much until I watched that new ep. Oh well.

* My new awesome DVD player continues to make me happy. Because the USB thing is wonderful.

* New Doctor Who! Probably not going to have time to watch it today, though, but still.

* When watching that, Mac and I are also watching Vegas. Not sure about Enemy at the Gate yet, but Vegas.

I've watched various versions of Hair four times in four days now. Movie Wednesday, musical Thursday and Friday, and movie again on Saturday.

If I had time, I would totally watch the movie again today, to complete the 5/5 thing. I don't, however, since I have to write about Panic at the Disco before tomorrow, and I also want to read/listen to some fic. Oh, and I have to write a plan thing for a school project. So no Hair for me.

(Also, speaking of, it turns out the short-haired Berger = Lorne thing... Well, there's a slight resemblance? But when watching the movie right after Doppelganger the whole "OMGWTF IT'S LORNE" thing wasn't really there anymore. Oh well.)

As for Outsiders, well, it was, once again, an okay episode but nothing awesome. Which seems to be par for the course for season five, really. Well, except The Shrine.

Well, I guess it's back to work for me, then.

I just watched Hair again, because we're going to see the musical (well, a musical, though not the original Hair) tomorrow. And also with school on Friday, actually. I don't mind, though; I like it.

Anyway, three thoughts:

A) What. It's been a couple years since I last watched it, and just. Did I not see the Claude/Berger then, or did I just not remember it? Because seriously. Whoa.

B) Short-haired Berger totally looks like Lorne.

C) There's a guy on the army base -- a private -- called Sumner. I loled. The age fits, even. Except Sumner isn't in the army, but hey. Still.

[livejournal.com profile] maccadole -- We need to rewatch it together at some point. Or at least parts. Because the slash what. And also Lorne!Berger was epic awesome.

John wouldn't call himself stupid -- he considers himself a pretty smart guy, actually, although he doesn't necessarily let people see it all that often. And after all, he has the math degree to prove it.

But despite this -- despite this -- it never even occured to him. O'Neill said "some radio guy" was his next assignment; Rodney (no, John reminds himself, McKay, because calling him by his first name is just going too far somehow) is on a publicity tour... And yet, John never even considered putting two and two together.

So when the guy who looks strangely familiar sticks his hand out impatiently and says, "Rodney McKay, and can we please get the boring introductions over with so I can go to my hotel room?", John realizes two things: A, oh, Rodney -- McKay -- is apparently just like his radio persona, and B, he has been extremely, monumentally stupid (and also C, that explains the familiarity, because John might have, once or twice, a long time ago, looked at the radio channel's website, and, more specifically, Rodney's picture. He looks better in real life, John thinks, and then sternly tells himself not to go there).

~

Yeah. (Oh, and yes, maybe I should clarify... In this AU, right now, at least, though that might change if/when I ever seriously write it... John is some security type person.)

A random thought I had about SGA while watching Hide and Seek a couple of weeks ago:

In Hide and Seek, we see Rodney do the first really brave thing he does in the series; he puts the personal shield back on and goes down the gateroom stairs to face the entity.

And then... In Doppelganger, when Rodney goes back in to help John against the nightmare, where do we first see him? Coming down the same stairs again.

Whoever, either John or Rodney, decides what Rodney’s supposed to do in the dream, what his place is, what it’s supposed to look like, maybe remembers this first really brave thing of Rodney’s, and (subconsciously) puts him back in the same place.

Now, seeing as how that would mean, you know, continuity and stuff, it’s probably just a coincidence, but it’s still pretty damn cool.

"Oh. Did Rodney just die?"
"Mhm."
"Heh. He's so ugly."

-- a conversation with my brother as I was watching Doppelganger a couple of weeks ago. Just for the record, I do not agree with him. xp

When you see this, post a quote from Stargate Atlantis in your journal.

You get two because I couldn't choose.

Rodney: Well, if you'll excuse me, I'll be a foot and a half over there, taking some readings. Feel free to talk amongst yourselves. (38 Minutes)

~

Rodney: It's a brisk walk away.
John: And by "brisk" you mean... "far"?
Rodney: And by "walk", I mean "run".
(The Storm)

... You can sort of tell I'm rewatching season one right now.
